Pretty much everyone at the moment is claiming they're making house music from grime stalwarts and d'n'b/breaks producers such as Zinc, African house producer Spoek Mathambo through to Cooly G and a real resurgence from more traditional house music producers such as Picnic's most recent headliner Rick Wade.

Aubrey High Pass Highway
I don't know who Aubrey is but it would seem he's been making music for over ten years. I haven't got round to checking out any of his other stuff but his High Pass Highway is a great, straight-up house music release.

Jahdan Blakkamoore "All Comes Back To One" from Lustre Kings Productions on Vimeo.
As you may have read in My musical Journey, house music is the first electronic music I really related to so I'm pretty happy with this house music revival. I think what I like best is that it's not just some retro revival but a whole lot of people who were around the first time really hitting a new high, as well as a whole raft of younger producers not even born when house began, taking it's essential elements and soul, taking in influences from the best parts of the newest music (dubstep, funky) and coming up with a whole new sound such as Joy Orbison and his massive track of last year Hyph Mngo... and I'm obviously not the only one loving it.
So, I thought it'd be worth going through a bunch of house tracks I've really been loving over the past few weeks or months. (Plus a beautiful new reggae track from Jahdan Blakkamoore!)
Roska Feat. Jamie George Wonderful Day (DVA Soul Power Remix)
I've been loving Roska's output over the past 12 months and he's definitely stepped up his game from the first few twelves he released which, for the most part, were a little too loopy, despite the fact they could probably be considered more 'house'. But what really blew me away was DVA's remix of Wonderful Day. It's possibly my favourite track of the year. (By the way Roska will be playing at Playground Weekender, I'm really hoping he does a sideshow as I probably won't be able to make it.)

DJ Sprinkles Hush Now
My second pick is DJ Sprinkle's Hush Now. DJ Sprinkles, under his real name Therre Thaemlitz, has made two of my favourite avant garde albums, in particular, Lovebomb. The new DJ Sprinkles output is strictly house, and great house music at that.

An Old School Favourite: Mateo and Matos The Real Thing
I can't find a youtube or MP3 of the original of this track but it's one of my favourite all time house tracks. A simple, booming house kick drum, percussion and beautiful female vocals with just the right amount of reverb. Here's the discogs link... you might have more luck than me. It also appears on Glasgow Underground Vol.4
Jahdan Blakkamoore All Comes Back To One
Finally, although it's not house, I couldn't help but include this new track from Jahdan Blakkamoore. Having previously released an album on Dutty Artz, Buzzrock Warrior, as well as the preceding Bazooka Shot mixtape (which I always like more than the album); Jahdan has returned to a more reggae based release (along the lines of Noble Society) with this being the first single. Beautiful stuff!
