Most of these have been a while coming. As George Costanza can attest (semi-) unemployment is a full-time job and I've been busy, thus neglecting the blog. There'll be a few more interesting posts over the coming week.
Kali for Triple J Mixup
First up, this blog's co-conspirator and Picnic head honcho, Kali, recently created and curated an exclusive mix for Triple J's legendary Mixup show.
Kali's DJing often takes a back seat to the business of promoting and putting on other great local and overseas DJs which is unfortunate because she's a great DJ.
This is a rocking mix showing her less well known but equally prominent house leanings while still traversing a range of sounds always soulful, often edgy and mixed superbly. For fear of sounding a like a Masterchef contestant, she plays music from the heart. Anyway, there's a lot more to it than a few sentences can do justice.
It's now available to download for you to play and impress friends with your excellent music taste.

Exclusive Justin Van Der Volgen Picnic mix
As you'll hear over and over in the press, Justin Van Der Volgen is a founding member of !!! and part of TBD along with Lee Douglas. He's also a really fantastic DJ. He's what could be described as a DJs DJ; not because he plays deep and eclectic chin-stroking sounds – as is usually the implied meaning of this term – but because the best DJs the world over love what he does behind the decks... As does everyone else who hears him.
He was kind enough to provide an exclusive mix as a taster for his upcoming Australian tour and Picnic appearance.
It really is a great mix and anyone who hears it will wanna see him do it in the clubs.
You can find his tour dates over at the Picnic website and his Sydney appearance is happening at GoodGod Small Club, Saturday 19th March. Tickets are $20 and available at Resident Advisor.
You can also check out an interview with him over at the Spank! Blog.

Magda's Shake mix
I first heard of Magda through Kali when she worked at Spank! Records and passed on a mix she'd done. I instantly loved it and every time I've heard Magda play (which is not nearly as often as I should), I love what she does. Best of all, it's never the same, always interesting, unique and just good stuff.
Magda, Mark Murphy, King of the dad Twitter joke, and the equally inimitable Dave Frenandes have a new party called Shake. It's this Saturday 12th March at an undisclosed warehouse and she's put together another quality mix to warm us up so we're ready to shake!

Clark Nova Garage mix
Last and probably least, I recently put together a short mix of what could possibly be described with the stupid term future garage. It's the sound I'm digging the most at the moment as far as dance music goes and the mix contains some of my favourite tracks from said genre. Purely for your enjoyment!
There's also a new compilation/mix/blend, whatever you wanna call it, on my soundcloud http://soundcloud.com/clark-nova-1 with a bunch of darker, downtempo electronic tracks if you're that way inclined and looking for something to go on your iPod.
