Print Magazines

Starting out as a music journalist, Damian quickly graduated to become Editor in Chief of Australia's largest circulation monthly free, full-color fashion and music magazine Catalog (Cat).

During his tenure Catalog turned from a loss-making venture to significant growth and positive revenue. The new editorial direction attracted increased advertising and circulation.

Damian has also worked as Contributing Music Editor to Oyster, and contributed travel stories, written for numerous music and fashion magazines, sub-edited for Rolling Stone Australia and created bespoke online content for brands such as Sony's Home Stereo Brand, through to financial websites.

Music Journalism and DJing

Having worked as a music journalist for ten years, the body of work is overwhelming.

Sadly many major interviews only ever appeared in print, including interviews with artists of not such as the Beastie Boys and Moby and contributions to Rolling Stone, Australian Style, Juice Magazine and Much more.

A selection of print only transcriptions can be found on my Blog where you'll also find more recent music and book reviews.

You can also find a selection of artists Q&As and reviews at the now defunct Orange Press website under my pseudonym Clark Nova.

Clark Nova has also been support DJ for a number of notable international artists including El-P, Derrick May and Shackleton and co-hosted a long-running electronic music show on Sydney's FBi 94.4FM
